Who I Am

I'm Kat, the founder of Chronically Sarcastic, a chronically ill and dynamically disabled advocate, and someone who learned very early that humour isn't just a personality trait, it's a survival skill.

I live in a body that doesn't always cooperate, inside systems that weren't built with people like me in mind. I know what it's like to be dismissed, talked over, underestimated, and expected to be endlessly resilient while struggling quietly behind the scenes.

Chronically Sarcastic wasn't created to sugarcoat reality- it was created to express truth with humour, to speak the things we're too often told to hide. And if that honesty inspires or comforts others along the way, that's a bonus.

This brand is for people who are tired of being polite about pain, who won't shrink themselves to make others comfortable, and who are done pretending everything is fine.

My Story

It all started at birth, sort of... I live with multiple chronic conditions, including endometriosis, chronic migraines, psoriatic arthritis, and a range of other interesting issues. Some days are harder than others, the psoriatic arthritis may be mostly under control, but lingering pain, weakness, and the side effects of immunosuppressants are constant reminders that my body is always working overtime.

Endometriosis and adenomyosis taught me that sometimes surviving means making extremely difficult choices, like surgery to remove an organ to gain relief from pain and constant systemic inflammation. Migraines can strike without warning, and autoimmune flare-ups often appear like a "Buy 1, Get 3 Free" deal that no one has ever asked for- because once one thing hits, the rest usually follows.

Despite all of this, I've found ways to not just navigate life, but live it to the fullest I can and find the zest required to respond to difficult diagnoses with wit. I also advocate for the chronic illness and disability community, creating spaces where others feel seen, safe, and understood. I focus on raising awareness of dynamic disabilities and conditions that aren't always visible, but still shape daily life. Chronically Sarcastic exists to normalize these conversations, connect people with shared experiences, and give language to the things so often ignored.

If you're here because you're chronically ill and/or disabled, I see you. If you're a caretaker, you're literally a superhero. And if you're an ally, we welcome you with open arms- we need as many of you as we can get.

Take your time, look around, and I hope you find something here that speaks to you.
